The Friends of Windsor Drive have been working with Houghton Regis Town Council to get either a replacement old tree stump or a Public Noticeboard put in place at the brook entrance.
The Town Clerk, Clare Evans, has been really helpful in trying to get Central Bedfordshire Council (CBC) to put a Noticeboard up without success unfortunately.
They have offered to put up a QR code as you will see in the email below, which will take people to our website. However, we will keep on the case of a Noticeboard, somewhere the whole community can post notices and get to see what's happening around Windsor Drive and Houghton Regis.
So at the moment at least our open space has some protection from unwanted visitors!
Our intrepid reporter, Carole Regan, has been talking to the guys who installed the log and as the old log is full of wild life they are going to pop it in the foliage across the road on Longbrooke so the wildlife can continue to live and grow etc rather than dispose of it.
